Thinking today about endings (and noticing things that have changed structure after they bloom like this clematis). It still has its own beauty but it has been changed by its experience, it has given energy, it has shouted loud in colour and expression. Our experiences can sometimes end more gently when we have had time to go through our transformation, have said what we need to say and reflected on where we have been. Endings too can feel positive, like a season that has gently passed, awaiting what is to come with quiet anticipation…the roots (although unseen) grow stronger in the process
A journey of learning, unlearning and returning to self.

For seasons of change, grief and becoming.

There is an area of the garden where, this time of year, it is left to grow naturally. A haven for wildlife and an interesting metaphor for letting things sit for a while for letting things be less than perfect. In the rush of life we can often find ourselves neglecting to give ideas time, to let things settle, to gather ideas and to sit in those feelings for a while. Who knows what may develop if we sit and let things rest for a time. Perhaps some of our most meaningful work.
Thinking today about those times you just need shelter. A moment to retreat, a time when real rest comes. Nature often provides shelter to other plants and the soil beneath it, like these beautiful ferns. We can often walk past and keep busy - keep o
Thinking today about those times you just need shelter. A moment to retreat, a time when real rest comes. Nature often provides shelter to other plants and the soil beneath it, like these beautiful ferns. We can often walk past and keep busy - keep on going to silence the noise. Perhaps somewhere nearby, underneath those leaves, something is retreating, taking a breath and preparing again to face the world.
What a wonderful celebration of Sir David Attenborough and his life and work I’m enjoying in a moment of calm this evening. I think he inspires in all of us an appreciation and love for the natural world. What an amazing life 💚

Grief can sometimes feel like walking through treacle and sometimes like tiny glimmers. As we move into a long bank holiday weekend, memories and moments of times past may bubble to the surface. Processing is never linear, maybe there is no timeline
Grief can sometimes feel like walking through treacle and sometimes like tiny glimmers. As we move into a long bank holiday weekend, memories and moments of times past may bubble to the surface. Processing is never linear, maybe there is no timeline but maybe tiny moments can come - like tiny buds blooming until you can feel the warmth of the sun again

Life without your parents can feel tough sometimes but today I received a rather wonderful package of letters and photographs from my mum’s school pen pal. Seeing her writing and laughing at her irreplaceable humour had me crying happy tears - she once became a mother too and our mothers had all the hopes and dreams that we all have. I now have this photograph to remind me of them ✨
Am loving watching these baby peas grow, reaching upwards and outwards day by day

Between Wings all started with a walk and a river and spotting a flash of blue... We all sometimes need to be held between soft wings, to feel held and supported whilst we process feelings and prepare to fly. Read more in my blog post - Inspiration (
