I’m Jennie. I’m a mum of two teenagers from East Sussex and I’m passionate about supporting people in life’s transitions. Having been through a few myself (including long term health conditions, the loss of my parents, postnatal depression and transitioning through divorce) I now find myself in mid-life facing a new future.

Having started my career in classical music I retrained with a University Diploma in Breastfeeding Counselling in 2011 and then set up Baby Cafe in Tunbridge Wells in 2012. My training gave me a fantastic grounding in using person centred counselling skills and facilitating groups of adults and I enjoyed teaching antenatal feeding preparation classes and then supporting them in the group after they had their babies.

My love of learning continued and I added a module in research, completed additional assessments to become a senior practitioner with NCT and, later, in 2017 a supervisor supporting my peers in their work with parents and ensuring safe practice. In 2026 I plan to begin a diploma in Counselling.

In 2020 I joined forces with some amazing women to found Baby Umbrella in West Kent which has now become an award winning charity. I am their Education and Practice Lead, have led and designed the supervision of practitioners and volunteers and redesigned the Peer Support training ensuring counselling skills and listening are at the heart of what they do.

I retain my musical roots being a trustee of the fabulous Tonbridge based charity, Kidenza: inspiring children through professional music and seeing the power of music to transform lives.

As I started to work through the latest life transitions myself I realised that perhaps some of what I have learnt can support others on similar journeys, through grief, loss, healing and acceptance.

I have turned to mindfulness, counselling, creativity, nature and wellness on my path so far. This site, as well as sharing my professional services, also shares something from my heart in the form of my blog and creative spaces.
